Windows, roof, and some shopping...

We have been so busy this holiday season that we haven't had a chance to go up to the house during the week. We were able to run about there with the kids on Sunday after church and they were surprised. It feels so good to see them run through the house, talk about their rooms, and how much space they are going to have :) we are truly blessed to be able to share these moments with them...memories that we will have forever.

So far, they have have finished framing the house. Our PM went through and marked a couple areas to be fixed. We also have windows and some siding on the back of the house. Our mock front door is in as well.

This week our roof will be completed; shingles and all.  Rough ins for plumbing and HVAC will be completed this week too.

We have also been doing a lot of window shopping (lol) for a fridge and washer/dryer. Such a hard decision...so expensive...but so beautiful too!! Here are some pics!

Stay blessed and Happy Holidays.

Baby it's cold outside (I found my lost blog post)

The weather down here in South Texas has been brutal for the past week. The framing has been put on hold due to the deep freeze and ice. It is definitely cold, but I haven't seen any ice yet!! They can still build in cold weather ...right? At least they do in AK, ND, and almost every state up north. I have followed many blogs in the last few years where they start the building process in the snow (I think). My point is..JUST...KEEP....BUILDING, we are getting restless in this house and are ready to go. Living in base housing is not the business anymore!!!

What do you all think about building in the cold? Am  I the only one who thinks it's possible? Don't wanna sound like the grinch :/

Blessings

Lost my post...

So I typed a whole post last night on my new phone the Samsung Note 3, which claims to also be a tablet for its outrageous price. Well... it froze and I lost my long winded post :( so enjoy the pictures of a what has been done in the last week... not much.

Blessings!!

And the framing continues..............

They are really working fast. I didn't get to go up to our home site since Monday, but hubby went today and took some pics. He had his thumb in some pictures if you happen to see it :). By chance, he ran into our PM and found out they will be finished framing on Tuesday. We also got our brick delivered. I wish hubs would have took a close up of the picture, it is so beautiful!!! It would have been Saturday, but we are having some freezing cold temperatures roll through. I must say...we are having no luck with the weather. We have seen delay, after delay, after delay!!! Keep praying for us that the builder will catch up and we will close in February. Until next time, Blessings to all this Holiday season and enjoy hubby's pics :)

Thanksgiving Lot Surprise

OMG!!! What an amazing Thanksgiving surprise!!! We did not expect to see anything happening on our lot until Monday per our PM, BUT.... framing has begun. We were not planning on going out to the house until Monday evening after work. As soon as I drove up the workers were hard at work but it took them about 5 minutes to pack up and go on break. After to one of the framers, I found out they actually started yesterday and will be done framing by Wednesday, WEDNESDAY!!! We were originally told it would take 2-3 weeks, but lucky for us we are the only ones framing right now.

We will post some more pictures over the next few days, but from what I have heard from some of my new neighbors, everything goes pretty fast from this point on.

I tried to sneak in a picture of the framers on break from my car LOL!!

Quick Update

Even though we live in town, our Realtor is so awesome!! He went by and took pictures of our framing package being delivered. Our home is being built about 20-25 minutes outside of town in a small suburban "city". The "city" is really developing, but still has somewhat of a small town feel. Here are some pictures of that he sent us.

On Saturday evening, our builder had a future homeowner gathering. It was great! We had the opportunity to meet a few other families in the neighborhood who are building and one who recently moved in. Our new neighbors are all really sweet people. The best part about the evening was the FREE BBQ, desserts, and liquor :))

Wow!!! As I sit here typing this our SR and PM just called to give an update...they will begin framing this weekend (hopefully)!!! Let's just pray this does happen. We will probably drive up there Sunday to see if they started. They also mentioned we are the only ones framing right now, so it shouldn't take as long...YEAH!!!

More Delays...GRRRRR!!!!

Okay, so our SR and PM just called and notified us that framing, which should start tomorrow, has been DELAYED!!! Really??? Now framing won;t start until on or about December 2nd after the Thanksgiving holiday. I don't see how the house will be ready by the end of January. We are suppose to close in February. It just doesn't sound realistic, although our PM said it is definitely doable...I just don't see how :((

One thing that I do know for sure from reading others blogs, is that new construction never goes as planned...so be FLEXIBLE!

F-O-U-N-D-ATION!!! (Weeks 3-5)

Okay, so we haven't posted in almost 3 weeks because not much has taken place. We have been delayed, delayed, delayed!!!! It has been raining so much here in south TX that the workers were not able to do anything (#tear). Until last week Thursday 11/14/13, our foundation was finally poured. Mr. R (hubby) was able to get up there while they were still pouring and so did our Realtor. It took 7 trucks to lay our foundation. I wasn't able to get up there until later that night when it was dark, but best believe I went out the next day after work.

Here some pics of the progress over the last few weeks. Enjoy and stay blessed.

View from the "driveway" towards the house.

Rebar (garage)

Insulate plumbing with duct tape... Really??

View from the back towards the front of the house.

This was strange to me, but kitchen plumbing
and hoses to laundry room.

Men busy at work.

I went back at night and everything was poured!!

Guys still working on smoothing foundation.

Went back the next day, all the forms had been removed.
